The "once" animation runs on the very first page load, before any transitions happen. It's your chance to make a first impression. In this lesson we'll look at how to set up a dedicated once animation, separate from your regular enter transition.

What is the once animation?
When someone first lands on your site, there's no previous page. No leave animation. Just the page appearing. The once function in Barba lets you handle this moment differently.
When to use it
Use it when you want a special first-visit experience:
- A loader or intro sequence
- A logo animation that plays once
- A more dramatic reveal than your standard enter
- Etc...
